I'm back at school after selling pest control with my wife all summer. We had some time to spend with our family in San Diego before driving back up to Utah and we're now just ending our 2nd week of school. It's crazy to look back at everything that we've done in the last year. Marissa and I got married in December of 2007. Since then we've gone to a semester of school, flew to San Diego for Spring Break, Packed our house and moved to Fresno to work all summer, bought a truck, found out that Mom's has cancer again, moved back to Utah, and started our last year of under grad at Utah State! Wow.
When I think of my life compared to other young married couples I am amazed at how much we have done already. Marissa and I don't live a "normal" newlywed life. We're both 23 and live away from our home town. We have a 4 year old skitso dog that we love and her older brother,a 15 year old gelding mustang as our "children" as my wife likes to call them. We've been through many life changing events in our lives and are currently in the midst of another battle with cancer that is once again threatening the life of our mother (Marissa' mom). Just when it seems that life is back to "normal" something else drops in to test our patience. I don't say this to complain, but as an observation throughout my life. This just re-affirms my belief in the plan of salvation and our purpose on this earth. We are here to learn, grow, and make mistakes. We must learn from them. Life is non-stop....it's non-stop learning.
